Format:
This competition is a 2-man team event featuring individual scoring components. Participants will operate in two-person teams, engaging targets in a variety of realistic urban and field shooting scenarios.

Key Elements:
1. Target Engagement: Teams will locate, range, and assess wind conditions collaboratively before alternating shooting roles.

2. Positions: Competitors will encounter diverse firing positions, including prone, rooftop, vehicle-based, tank trap, and urban concealment scenarios.

3. Time Constraints: Stages will emphasize rapid deployment and engagement under strict time limits.

4. Equipment Proficiency: Success depends heavily on familiarity with and efficient deployment of personal equipment.

5. Blind Approach: Many stages will utilize a blind approach format.

6. Close-Quarters Engagements: Teams should be prepared for surprise close-range targets requiring swift pistol engagements.

Environmental Factors:
The Blue Ridge Mountain setting presents unique challenges:
– Significant angle shooting situations
– Complex mountain wind patterns
– Mountain to Mountain shooting opportunities
– Chance to shoot extreme ranges over 1mi

Skill Focus:
– Equipment mastery
– Communication
– Target identification and ranging
– Rapid wind assessment
– Engagement of targets from close range to 2000 yards

Note: Ranges will be provided for all targets beyond 1200 yards.

Caliber Considerations:
While some extended range targets (beyond 1500 yards) will be present, the course of fire (COF) includes a balanced mix of distances:
– Short-range precision targets
– Intermediate targets (700-1200 yards)
– Moving targets and Known-Your-Limits (KYL) racks
– Positional stages

Given the varied nature of the stages and absence of high round count scenarios, fast 6.5mm calibers or suitable .30 caliber options are recommended.

This event is Old Warrior friendly, featuring short walks between stages and free Can-Am shuttles around the shooting complex.

Also included in your registration fee are onsite classes and clinics featuring some of the world’s foremost experts on long range precision including Frank Galli of Snipers Hide, Emil Praslick, the world’s foremost expert on wind and the head coach of the Army Marksmanship Unit for 12 years, gathering more team wins than any other coach in US military history.
We will also be joined by current and former instructors from the Army’s sniper program and representatives from companies like Kestrel will be providing clinics on how to get the most out of your equipment.

You will also have the opportunity to participate in on-site charity shoots, such as the Army Sniper Association’s Liberty Bell shoot, with prizes awarded and all proceeds going to the Army Sniper Association’s mission to support and provide meaningful assistance to snipers and their families.

Lunch will be provided Saturday and Sunday, and dinner will be provided Saturday evening.

The competition design aims to provide a challenging, enjoyable, and rewarding experience for all participants. Detailed COF information will be forthcoming as design and refinement continue.
